Even though the seo industry wants to grow and get rid of the dubious. Reputation it had in the past it seems that many don’t want to change and continue to cast a shadow over the industry. For every company that is doing it right, it seems there are many. More that haven’t updated their practices or are still willing to take shortcuts. I know it’s not october and not halloween time. But I’m already getting my costume ready and I was inspired to write this. These are real seo horror stories I’ve seen over the past two years there are outdated practices.

I still see cases of keyword stuffing and even hidden text. Titles look terrible when padding; I’ve seen the same term multiple times or every city known to man in the title tag. I recently came across an 800+ character homepage title with almost every city in the area!
