In April we were all confronted with ‘ mobilegeddon ‘. Google announced that websites and shops that are not mobile-friendly score less well in their ranking. With the ever-increasing traffic via mobile devices, hardly Chief VP Operations Email Lists anyone can afford not to have their online presence on mobile. 2. Canonical URLs

This is especially important for the larger e-commerce platforms. There are different ways to get to the same product page: for example with action banners, the menu, landing pages, the search function within the shop or with filters. Each path automatically generates a unique url and each url can be picked up by Google. As a result, they compete with each other in the organic results. The internal link juice is spread to these different pages, instead of focusing on one variant. In some cases, they can get in each other’s way so much that they both fall so far in the results that no one even finds out they exist at all.
