Just swap out the Wi-Fi card like you would any other. Compatibility is a bigger factor though, and some manufacturers are very sneaky about what components can be swapp out and what can’t. I’m assuming you can actually connect to the network card, so at this point you’ll want to check if there’s support for M.2 2230 cards. This can be found on the manufacturer’s specifications page. Take the Dell XPS 9520 as an example – it has an AX211 Killer 1675 adapter, but the laptop will not use the 6 GHz frequency range at all. At this point, there are only assumptions, but a popular reason for this behavior was that Dell did not update the antennas, so they could not work correctly with the WiFi 6E network card.
