In a survey of more than 1,000 workers, 84% said they had or had a terrible manager.
- Only the negative side of things – 56% of respondents said that one of the distinctive aspects of a bad manager is the approach to subordinates’ performance. A vision that is constantly oriented towards the negative and never towards the positive. A true leader knows the value of positive reinforcements on employee performance in terms of engagement in work and identification with the company mission.
- Egocentrism – A fundamental aspect that can be recognized in a bad manager is egocentrism (45%). The results are not teamwork, but personal dream companies: here’s where italians want to work successes (or failures); with all that this entails in terms of “performance anxiety” and relationships with collaborators.
- Head Elsewhere – 44% of workers interviewed said their boss often seemed clueless about what was going on in the organization or had his “head in the clouds.” This is a frustrating trait for those who work with this type of manager.
- Absent – Can a manager be absent? For 31% of workers in the survey we are talking about, yes. This is not just cases in which the leader of a team is often taiwan lists away or works remotely: you can be absent even when working in the same room.
